Stamping on Ribbon

Stamping on Ribbon

Really Reasonable Ribbon

Welcome all you fabulous ribbon lovers! It's Kathy here to share a  a fun way to customize ribbon for whatever project you are making. How? Well, by stamping on ribbon, of course! Have you ever done it? It's super easy, quick and fun to do.

Santa brought me the new Couture paper from Graphic 45. (OK...I bought it for myself. But I didn't let myself use it until after Christmas, so it felt like a Christmas present!) I love the colors in this pad, but I simply could not find the "right" ribbon to use with my creation. And here's where Really Reasonable Ribbon and my stamp pad came to my rescue. I found this wonderful cream seam binding in my stash of Really Reasonable ribbon. It is smooth and silky...perfect for stamping. I found a tape measure stamp in my stash and pulled out my Monarch Orange Archival ink and went to town to create this custom ribbon for my stylish card.

Isn't it cool? I was able to perfectly match the dress in the patterned paper!

RRR December 30 02

To do this, simply lay your ribbon out on a smooth surface, ink up your stamp with the color of your choice and stamp away. Let it dry for a second or two (or you can use your heat gun if you are careful) and your ribbon is ready to tie.

RRR December 30 03

I also added some of the Natural Jute String on top of the triple loop bow. Which was easy to tie, because I used my fabby new Bow it All tool. (And, it just so happens that Bonnie is having a great End of the Year Sale through midnight tonight, so you can save 20% off the regular price if you order by then. Of course all the ribbons...even sale ribbons...and flowers and bitty bags are on sale, too! So make sure you check it out.)

RRR December 30 06

This is a fun style of card to make. I call it my "fun fold" design. I score the front of a 5" x7" card every 1 5/8" then fold it so that the first fold from the open end is a mountain fold, the second a valley fold and the third is another mountain fold. This makes the card function almost like a mini book so you can really have fun decorating it.

RRR December 30 07

I added sweet Ivory Crochet Lace and some adorable Wild Orchid Sweetheart Blossoms in two-tone brown as accents on the pages.

RRR December 30 08

I also used more of the ivory seam binding and jute string on the tags.

RRR December 30 12

The crochet lace works so well with these vintage papers.

RRR December 30 11

I am in love with the Sweetheart blossoms!

RRR December 30 13

And that's it for me today, my friends. I hope you will give stamping on ribbon a try if you haven't done it yet. It's such a great way to customize ribbon. Feel free to drop by my blog  Kathy by Design to see more of my projects.

Until next time,

Cheerio,

Simple Valentine's Day Card with Baker's Twine

Happy Sunday! Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. I am popping in quickly to share a fun card with you using the baker's twine on a card. I created a simple Valentine's day card and wanted to compliment by adding a touch of trim.

I used the Baker's Twine Card Set - Sizzling Summer and used the lightest color one to match the rest of the card color scheme. Bonnie is having a 5-day sale on other items including baker's twines, so make sure to check out our RRR online store!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Sunday :)

One More Christmas Card by Jenn Cochran

Hello all you RRR friends and fans!  Did everyone survive Christmas and all the holiday festivities.  Or maybe some of you are still celebrating?  I see lots of holiday activity still happening on FB.  If you are in need of ribbon, now is the time to stock up!!!

Bonnie is having a fantastic sale going on now!  The more you buy the more you save!!!

I thought I would share one more Christmas card.  This one didn't get mailed out to anyone.  My little Bean took it right away and put in the his "card collection".  I really loved how the Lipstick Red Seam Binding  bow turned out on this card.  I think the seam binding that Bonnie carries turns out great for these fun bows.  This bow was tied using the Bow It All tool from Zutter.

Thank you all for visiting.  See you in the New Year.  Hope everyone enjoys the festivities and is safe.

New Year's Tussie Mussie Tutorial

Hello Friends!!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!  Before I forget, you don't want to miss Bonnie's Fabulous
Really Reasonable Ribbon End of Year Sale!
Today I have a Vintage Style Tussie Mussie that I would like to share with you.
I used some fabulous ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon to dress it up!
You can start out with the Collage Sheet that I designed, or create your own cone.  You will need to cut out your pieces. Using a scor tool line up the point of the tussie mussie with one of the grooves, make sure the dashed lines fall into that groove, and score your Tussie Mussie.  You will need to do this 4 times.  Next you will need to ink the folds and edges with Ranger's Frayed Burlap Distress ink.
Apply your  Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue with your Ultra fine Metal Tip to the tab, and adhere the flap to the last segment to create your Tussie Mussie.  You will also need to punch holes in the sides and in your focal pieces.
I used a 24 inch piece of the Silky Crush Champagne Ribbon (a new Fav) for my hanger.  I tied a not on either side and left enough of a tail for the pieces to look elegant.
Around the top of my Tussie Mussie, I have a few layers, starting with the Satin Double Ruffle Ivory Ribbon, then my Fav Juliet Lace followed up with a layer of Mini Ivory Pom Poms.  I also embellished the center top with a 20mm Deep Ivory Mulberry Rose and some White Leaves that I inked with Faded Burlap Distress ink.
Layer One
Layer Two
Layer Three
At the top of my focal I tied a bow with some Antique Gold Organza.
I created my handle with some lovely Silky Crush Champagne Ribbon (a new Fav).  I also created some Tripple bows with my Bow it All and Havana Brown Seam Binding.  I placed one on the left and right sides of my Tussie Mussie.  Then a Double Bow on the front bottom.  Each of the bows were topped off with a 20mm Deep Ivory Mulberry Rose.
Another look
Another Look
Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue was applied to all the edges of my pieces and rose petals with the Ultra fine Metal Tip and #73 Platinum glitter was applied.
Here is a look at the center
Sorry the next photo the lighting is not that great because it is dark out and snowy....just know it is much more beautiful in real life.
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.  You could fill the tussie mussie with Confetti, or yummy snacks.
Thank you for visiting us at Really Reasonable Ribbon today!!
Hugs!!

Mr. Snuggles Treat Box

Hello everyone, Cheryl here today with a sweet lil' treat box designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon, using the beautiful Diamond Satin in Moss Green! I hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas!!! Mine was AWESOME!!! :)

I made my bow separate from the one that ties around the box. This lil' Treat box was made at a get together, and I just added the ribbons, and die cut Mr. Snuggles with his present. :)

I love the Diamond Satin.  It's so pretty and easy to work with!  Bonnie carries several different colors and they can be found here! As for the Mr. Snuggles and Present, they are CottageCutz dies, and are from The Scrapping Cottage. They were colored with Copics, and then glued together. I popped him off the box with foam dots.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Well it's Christmas time again and I hope this post finds you happy healthy and surrounded by the ones you love the most.  Even if your family is far away...keep them close in your heart....and they'll be "home" for Christmas.  I won't take up too much of your time this morning as I know you're like me.....knee deep in wrapping papers...trying to get the best family pictures to add to your scrapbook...and getting ready to prepare your holiday feast. So I'll just share the pics of my fun and festive Christmas Mini Album.

I used the Glitz Ribbon in Red and Green, and Gingham in Green and Red. All from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Okay..that's all for me....I'm off to sneak a few sprinkle cookies for breakfast before everyone gets up. I don't think Santa will mind do you? I hope the holiday is everything that you hope for....a lot of family, a lot of faith, a lot of festivities and maybe even a little magic...after all it is Christmas : )
Have a happy and productive day and find some time to be merry! Hugs and love from Ginny at Polly's Paper
